The I_do Project aims at promoting the active participation of youth Roma in public life, through knowledge acquisition and skills development on issues of operation and governance of Municipal Bodies. Through the establishment of an interregional youth alliance, the Project focuses on empowerment of young Roma the Project focuses on the empowerment of young Roma in order to ensure their participation as equals in local decision-making bodies (both Roma and non-Roma). By promoting youth Roma as equal members of local communities and by empowering them to efficiently participate in public dialogue, the Project envisions the upbringing of active citizens with a firm grasp of their rights, participate in public dialogue and in decision-making processes for the benefit of the society at large.
The I_do Objectives are:
- To create youth citizens, who by performing their civic identities, value civic engagement as a pivotal element of democratic, inclusive and secure societies.
- To promote the role of emancipated youth Roma, as agents of change through an interregional alliance.
- To enhance local development through a youth-led sustainable approach, based on community organizing, advocacy, and participation in policy-making.
