Research area:

Boosting Europe’s emergency response

A large number of emergency medical services (EMS) were involved in the EU-funded iProcureSecurity project (2019-2020) to identify, evaluate and prioritise future challenges and needs. Acting on the findings, this EU-funded iProcureSecurity PCP project will develop an innovative triage management system that provides quick and accurate overview of victims, as well as improved interoperability with other first responders and relevant actors.

The project’s overall aim is to boost the organisational setup, coordination of mechanisms and actors in Europe’s EMS system that is heterogeneous and diverse. For instance, the project will aim to reduce handover times between ambulances and hospitals during life threatening emergencies or cross-border disasters.
